According to the annual North American Airport Satisfaction Study by J.D. Power, Philadelphia International Airport rates as one of the worst large airports in the U.S., writes Adam Hermann for PhillyVoice.

In the large airports category, PHL tied for third-worst place with Honolulu International. Out of the 24 large airports rated, only Kansas City International and New York’s LaGuardia received worse scores.

J.D. Power gave PHL a rating of three out of five “power circles.”

PHL was placed in the large category due to its passenger volume, close to 15 million last year. Airports like Atlanta, which had around 50.3 million passengers last year, and Los Angeles, with 41.2 million, are in the mega category.

The study is based on responses provided by more than 40,000 travelers. It evaluated the airports on six key factors, including terminal facilities, airport accessibility, and security checks.
