Sister Nora Nash of the Sisters of St. Francis has called into question the ethics of Wells Fargo after it agreed to start working with Sturm Ruger, a major gun manufacturer, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal .

According to Bloomberg, Wells Fargo issued a $40 million line of credit to Sturm Ruger last month. This shocked Sister Nora, since her group of activists had met with the bank’s business standards employees the day before in New York.

“This is shocking news because we are in sustained dialogue with Wells Fargo,” she said . “This new business relationship with Sturm Ruger is in direct conflict with ethics, culture, and respect for human rights throughout the company.”

Sister Nora is the director of corporate responsibility for the Sisters of St. Francis, based in Aston. And this is not the first time she has bumped heads with the Wells Fargo board.

She was also the co-filer of a shareholder resolution that ordered the Wells Fargo board to provide a comprehensive report into the causes of the bank’s fraudulent activity regarding the fake accounts scandal in 2016.
