Just in time for Halloween, CandyStore.com has published a definitive ranking of the worst and best Halloween candy to help you decide what to stock up on this year and what to avoid, writes Clair Robins.

To compile the rankings, CandyStore.com combined the findings of 12 other lists of the worst and best Halloween candy with more than 40,000 of its own customer surveys.

After weighing the data, it has determined that the worst candy you could hand out this Halloween is Circus Peanuts, followed closely by Candy Corn, Wax Coke Bottles, and Necco Wafers.

Also on the worst list are Tootsie Rolls, Smarties, Licorice, Good & Plenty, and Mary Janes.

Better alternatives are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, which rated as the best candy. Second-ranked Snickers and third-ranked Twix are also safe choices, as are Kit Kats, M&Ms, Butterfingers, and Hershey Bars.
