Suzanne Friday

Suzanne Friday, Senior Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs at the Council on Foundations, will discuss options and trends in charitable giving at a reception co-hosted by the Delaware County Bar Association and The Foundation for Delaware County.

The program – entitled “So Your Client Wants to Start a Foundation: Options and Trends for Creating a Legacy of Charitable Giving” – will take place on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 3:30-5:30 PM at the Bar Association’s office located at 335 West Front Street in Media.

Friday will provide an overview of the legal requirements necessary to establish a charitable foundation and discuss the differences between private foundations and public charities, such as community foundations. She will also review pertinent federal tax laws and compare compliance requirements.

The program will also focus on trends in charitable giving – including donor-advised funds, LLCs, and crowdfunding platforms – and examine how the recent tax reform act may affect charitable giving.

CLE credits will be offered for attorneys. The program is also open to the public. Register by clicking here.
