Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 John D. Unangst Memorial Scholarship, awarded by Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation.

Eligible high school seniors can apply for one of five $3,000 awards by clicking here.

The annual scholarship was established in honor of Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union’s first and longtime President/CEO John D. Unangst, who was passionate about education. High school seniors planning to attend a full-time course of study at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning are eligible.

Several changes have been made to this year’s scholarship: the award amount has doubled to $3,000; the application process and essay submission is entirely online; and a total of five scholarships will be awarded, increasing the competitiveness of this esteemed honor.

All applications are reviewed and selected anonymously by a panel of educators. The deadline to submit an application is Jan. 15, 2019. Detailed instructions and the online application can be found here.

Eligibility requires attendance at the annual Partners in Education Celebration being held Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Drexelbrook Catering & Special Events Center. In addition to the scholarship recipients, Delaware County Excellence in Teaching awardees, Delco Hi-Q champions, the Financial Literacy Advocate of the Year, and other honorees will be recognized.
