Team Managing Nearly $1 Billion Leaves Merrill Lynch to Launch Investment Firm in Chadds Ford

Michael Henley

A team managing close to $1 billion in assets has left Merrill Lynch to start an RIA with Dynasty Financial Partners in Chadds Ford, writes Sean Allocca for Financial Planning magazine.

Wyeth Private Wealth specializes in navigating complex tax strategies for high-net-worth individuals. The team is led by CEO Michael Henley, while one of the founding partners, Steve Maconi, will be the firm’s chairman.

Henley, 34, was ranked first in Delaware and 42nd in the nation on Forbes magazine’s “America’s Top Next-Generation Wealth Advisor” for this year. In the new firm, six out of the eight partners are in their 30s.

The team mainly focuses on tax modeling that can span 10 years into the future, something most of the largest institutions steer clear of.

According to Henley, the firm is named to reflect the history of the area and honor the famous American painter, Andrew Wyeth, who worked from his Chadds Ford studio.

“We have a two- or three-decade runway ahead of us,” said Henley. “We can really see ourselves building out the business.”
