The LongHorn Steakhouse recently opened its doors at the chain’s newest location in the Springfield Square Central shopping center with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Springfield Press.

The ceremony was attended by the restaurant’s managing partner Dale Midgett, a number of local dignitaries, and some of the restaurant’s new staff. The first honorary steak went to State Rep. Alex Charlton, who gave it an enthusiastic thumbs-up.

“We’re very excited to welcome LongHorn Steakhouse here to Springfield,” said Charlton. “The restaurant is a nice complement to our county’s economic growth, providing more employment and long-term jobs.”

The Springfield establishment is the chain’s 506th location nationwide. The restaurant is in the location of the former Charlie Brown’s Fresh Grill, and will comfortably fit around 250 customers. The décor celebrates the American West and its natural beauty with contemporary artwork and sculptures of horses, western landscapes, and gorgeous sunsets.
