Darby native Kamar Jorden had 10 receptions for 249 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown, to lead the Calgary Stampeders to a 39-26 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last Saturday in the Canadian Football League, writes Daniel Austin for the Calgary Sun.

In doing so, the Penn Wood High School graduate set a franchise record for the most receiving yards in a single game. The previous record was set in 1968 by Herm Harrison, who, coincidentally, was being honored by the team on Saturday.

“I (felt) like I can make any play,” said Jorden, who played two years at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y., and two years at Bowling Green in Ohio before going undrafted by the NFL in 2012. “Sometimes, you feel like you can make any catch.”

Jorden’s 895 receiving yards through nine games this season is currently the second-most in the CFL. The 6-foot-3, 204-pound wideout has 52 receptions, including six for touchdowns, for the Stampeders, who sit in first place in the West Division with an 8-1 record.

“There’s a lot of stuff I’ve still got to prove to myself, to my family, to my coaches,” Jorden said. “I just want to keep the ball rolling. When I’m in a game and in a groove like that, I’m not thinking about the numbers. It’s all about making plays for the team and putting us in the best position.”
