Broomall native Damon Feldman, a former professional boxer and a celebrity boxing promoter, has written a book, The 16 Minute Man, that is a collection of memories from his childhood and his career in and around the ring, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Delaware County News Network.

The son of boxing trainer Marty Feldman, Damon attended Marple Newtown schools. He followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a part of the boxing world.

After several years as an undefeated fighter, Feldman had to give up his dream of becoming a world-class champion after sustaining an out-of-the-ring accident.

“Most of the people that I’ve promoted have more than used up their 15 minutes of fame in the eyes of the public,” Feldman said. “I put them in the ring to give them that one extra minute to shine.”

After his father, who trained six world champions, passed away in 2017, Feldman hit a brick wall and could not shake his profound sadness. To help himself recover, Feldman began writing.
