Renovations to the tune of $120 million are being planned for the Drexeline Shopping Center, at State Road near Township Line Road in Upper Darby, writes Linda Reilly for the News of Delaware County.

The new Drexeline Town Center, an 18-acre site, will feature a redesign for several existing tenants, including ShopRite, Crozer-Keystone Medical Center, PNC Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and Anthony’s Restaurant.

The developer is MCB Real Estate, a Baltimore-based investment company.

The planned renovation includes the expansion of ShopRite and Anthony’s, walking paths that tie into the Darby Creek Trail and improved access to SEPTA’s Media trolley line, both located at the rear of the shopping center.

The plan also includes a Wawa Super Store at Township Line and State roads, a new office building, a six-story indoor self-storage building that will look like an office building and improved parking and pedestrian walkways.

The shopping center currently generates an estimated annual economic impact of $37 million and supports approximately 350 direct jobs. After the redevelopment, the town center will generate an estimated annual economic impact of $103 million and support about 600 direct jobs.
