New CEO of Radnor-Based Qlik Plans to Focus on Large, Enterprise Clients

By

Mike Capone

Mike Capone, the new CEO of Qlik, plans to scale the Radnor company and primarily focus its operation on large, enterprise clients, writes Michelle Caffrey for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Qlik, which was founded in Sweden in 1993 before it was moved to Radnor 12 years ago, employs more than 2,000 people worldwide.

Capone’s appointment was accompanied with a round of layoffs in the company’s sales and marketing departments, where several dozens of employees were let go. Capone described the move as part of its plan to focus on big clients with big analytics problems, and leave more transactional commercial selling to its partners.

“That’s what I do: I grow and scale,” said Capone. ”There is an art to scaling a company.”

He said that to be successful, the company needs to be able to do business the way the customers want it to.

“When you start trying to do everything for everyone, you end up with a mess,” said Capone.
