Dr. Denise D’Attore, the headmistress of Regina Luminis Academy in Berwyn, believes she has a higher calling she needs to fulfill, writes Mark Abrams for CBS Philly.

While she is passionate about her job and her students, D’Attore believes she has to answer a divine call to start a new religious congregation of teaching sisters in the area. They will be called The Daughters of Mary, Mediatrix of Mercy.

“I believe it is the Lord who is calling me to work with him and to work with, we hope, very many other committed Catholic women to found this new congregation of teaching sisters,” said D’Attore.

She said that the new order of nuns will serve a special niche for classical curriculum schools.

D’Attore already met with Archbishop Charles Chaput and was given his blessing to found the new order of nuns. She’s hoping that the new convent will be established by the end of this year.
