Home Values in Delaware County Continue to Rise

Home values in Delaware County continue to rise and are expected to increase another 2.1 percent over the next year, according to Zillow.com.

Currently, the median home value in Delaware County is $191,100, a 0.8 percent increase over last year. This puts the average price per square foot at around $124, close to Philadelphia Metro’s average of $131.

Currently listed homes have a median price of $192,749, and are showing some upward price pressure. When it comes to renting, Delaware County has an average monthly rent of $1,350, just below the Philadelphia Metro average of $1,500.

However, median home values differ across the county. Drexel Hill is one of the most affordable areas with an average home value of $164,100. Media and Springfield are slightly higher with an average price of $276,500 and $293,100, respectively.

Closer to the top of the list is Marple with an average of $394,300. This is up 2.8 percent over the last year, and is expected to go up another 2.8 percent within the year. However, despite having average prices decrease by 2.4 percent over the last year, Haverford still has a median home value of $656,200.
