Bridge Connecting Upper Darby, Springfield Townships Reopens Ahead of Schedule

By

Delaware County Council recently joined township officials from Upper Darby and Springfield to announce the reopening of Addingham Bridge, also known as Rosemont Avenue Bridge, which connects Upper Darby and Springfield townships along Rosemont Avenue over Darby Creek.

As part of Delaware County’s bridge program, the $1.9 million reconstruction project included the installation of ADA ramps and a sidewalk along with new asphalt roadway approaches on both sides of the bridge.

With the reconstruction approved by County Council in September 2016 with Clearwater Construction as the contractor, the project was completed eight months ahead of schedule.

Over the last 20 years, the county has made significant progress in its bridge program, including the reconstruction of seven county-owned bridges.

Delaware County Council is committed to inspecting, maintaining, and rebuilding these bridges when necessary in order to ensure the safety of residents.
