Auston Trusty, a 19-year-old native of Media and defender for Bethlehem Steel FC, was named to the United Soccer League’s 20 Under 20 list, which ranks the USL’s Top 20 players under the age of 20, writes Jacob Born for PhiladelphiaUnion.com.
Trusty, who played for Penncrest High School as a freshman before joining the Philadelphia Union’s academy teams, checked in at No. 17 on the prestigious list.
The USL is a de facto minor league for Major League Soccer.
In addition to his exploits with Steel FC, Trusty has competed on the international stage, having been a member of the Under-20 U.S. Men’s National Team that brought home the CONCACAF Championship for the first time. He also scored a goal in the knockout stage of the Under-20 FIFA World Cup against New Zealand.
The 6-foot-3 Trusty represents the Union’s dedication to developing top local talent.
