Chester Clippers Gain Momentum Under Leadership of 2 Twins

The Chester Clippers are becoming a top seed high school football team thanks in part to twins Jalen and Daron Harris.

The Chester Clippers are turning into a top-seed football team, thanks in part to two 16-year-old sophomore twins, writes Aaron Carter for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“Those guys,” said Chester High School football coach Dennis Shaw, “have pretty much taken over as far as leadership.”

The twins are Jalen Harris, a quarterback, and Daron, a defensive back.

Daron has been growing into his responsibilities on the team and finding ways to be different from his twin, like changing his hairstyle.

“A lot of things changed when I cut my hair off. My attitude changed, and the way I think changed, and it’s been all for the better,” he said.

Twin Jalen, an all-state selection last year, has also been more of a vocal leader.

“Last year as a freshman,” Jalen said, “I didn’t say too much, but now I found my voice, and I’m leading the guys now.”

The twins also share a bit of telepathy out on the field, partly because they grew up playing ball together.

“On the offensive side,” Jalen said, “there’s a look I can give him, and he just knows what to do.”
