Leadership Delaware County Still Seeking Applicants for Class of 2018

The quality of Delaware County’s leadership will determine its future.

With that in mind, Leadership Delaware County – formally known as the Business Leadership Academy of the Foundation of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce – runs from September to June, and is now accepting applications.

The deadline to apply is Aug. 30.

Through a series of nine interactive sessions led by top professionals in a variety of fields, participants develop their leadership skills while learning about their community and the issues facing Delaware County. Graduates will be recognized in Harrisburg at a Delaware County legislative reception.

Established in 1989 and with more than 350 distinguished alumni, the program lays a foundation for the importance and significance of service to the community. The program’s alumni hold County, State, and Federal positions, lead nonprofit organizations and corporations, or are small business owners.

Participation in Leadership Delaware County is open to persons living and/or working in Delaware County. A maximum of 20 individuals will be accepted to participate in the program each year.

The LDC Committee acts as the selection committee. The Committee will be seeking representation from a cross-section of the community. These leaders and potential leaders will be active in business, education, the arts, religion, government, etc., and will reflect the diversity of the community.

Tuition for the program is $1,200 for members of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and $1,500 for non-members.
