Founded in 1837, Cheyney University is the oldest historically black university in the country, and offers bachelor’s degrees in a wide array of disciplines and master’s degrees in teaching, education, and public administration.

Retention Specialist

This position develops and facilitates events and programs designed to support student retention, collaborates with PR and assists with the production of printed materials, and assists with the assessment of freshman performance and retention data.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in education or a related discipline, though a master’s degree is preferred, and a minimum of three years of experience in higher education in academic or student affairs.

Dean of Enrollment Management

This position supervises the directors and staff in the department of enrollment management; assists with the development, revisions, and implementation of the enrollment management plan; and monitors all student scholarships for compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in an academic discipline, though a Ph.D. is preferred, and a minimum of five years of work experience in admissions and financial aid, including three years in a leadership role.

Athletics Director

This position implements athletic programs and policies within the guidelines of the university, NCAA, and PSAC; recruits, organizes, supervises, and evaluates athletic staff and coaches; and helps implement a marketing plan for intercollegiate athletics.

The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in athletic administration, business, or physical education; seven years of successful collegiate athletic coaching or administration on the NCAA Division I or II level; and NCAA compliance experience.
