The highest annual revenue in its 47-year history has prompted a leadership shakeup at Media’s Pilot Freight Services.

A shakeup at the very top is happening at Media’s Pilot Freight Services after it posted its highest ever annual revenue in its 47-year history, writes Kenneth Hilario for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The full-service transportation and logistics provider saw a huge bump in revenue last year, which mostly came from its e-commerce business. In total, Pilot reported revenues of more than $591.3 million for 2016, an increase of 4.55 percent over the previous year.

This success has prompted several changes in the company’s leadership, including the promotion of Gordon Branov to CEO. Meanwhile, John Hill will be taking over as president after 23 years with the company. Both promotions will be effective July 1.

Pilot Fright Services’ CEO of 10 years, Richard Phillips, will transition into the role of chairman of the company’s board, while former president Lou Cortese will retire after three successful decades with Pilot.

For the future, Pilot will remain focused on expanding its overseas business and is also planning on a major review of its IT systems. This is expected to help Pilot achieve a goal of earning $1 billion in revenue annually.
