Standing tall and strong, it’s hard to imagine that standout Villanova University defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon escaped the notice of most scouts in high school and much of college.

Now, however, the Wissahickon High School product is quickly creating a big impression with NFL scouts, according to a report by Zach Berman.

“First thing that jumps out is he’s 6-7. He’s 280 pounds, and he’s cut out of rock,” said Eagles Vice President of Player Personnel Joe Douglas. “He’s as body beautiful as it gets.”

While growing up in Ambler and attending Wissahickon, Kpassagnon kept his eyes on academics. He went on to obtain twin degrees in accounting and finance from Villanova, even while he became an All-CAA, All-American and CAA Defensive Player of the Year standout.

“I feel like I’ve gotten better the more I’ve played football over the years,” Kpassagnon said in the article. “Once I reach the NFL, I’ll be able to learn so much more and can learn from guys who have been doing this their whole life and know different techniques. Once I’m in, I expect to do really good things.”

The NFL draft arrives April 27-29. Read more about Kpassagnon’s run-in with Coach Mark Ferrante at Wissihickon and more on here.
