Wawa, the Delco-based chain of convenience stores, is a staple in the lives of Delaware Valley residents and beyond. Almost 700 Wawa stores – more than half of which sell gasoline – are located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Central Florida. They offer built-to-order hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, specialty beverages, and an assortment of soups, sides, and snacks.

Operations Engineer

This position leads sub-teams within key strategic programs to develop work cell designs that assure efficient operation for associates and provide excellent customer experience. He/she creates optimal designs for food service kitchens and retail areas to maximize throughput and productivity. The person manages the daily responsibilities within the innovation and design center and all work that is completed in the area.

The ideal candidate will preferably possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He/she will have five years of experience in a technical field or in Wawa store operations. The person will be proficient with Excel, Access, and preferably AutoCAD and/or 3D Design Modeling.

Lead Data Architect

This position leads the architecture and design of data platforms, including relational data architecture and non-relational data stores under the Hadoop ecosystem. He/she serves as the technical lead in the design, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise data solutions. The person designs and implements data ingestion techniques for real time and batch processes for structured and unstructured data sources.

The ideal candidate will preferably possess a bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, or engineering. He/she will have a minimum of 10 years of database and data integration experience and a minimum of five years of experience with SQL and big data solutions. The person will have strong knowledge of IT disciplines and trends.

Product Development Specialist

This position leads product development day-to-day functions for specific categories and sub-categories. He/she works independently to move projects through the process to meet the assigned goals. The person is responsible for creating and refining specifications for line extensions by developing multiple options for each concept and using a methodical approach to narrow down to the best alternatives.

The ideal candidate will preferably possess a degree in food science or culinary arts or will be a certified culinary scientist or certified research chef. He/she will possess three to four years of experience using a formal product development process or a master’s degree in a related field.
