For anyone in Delaware County looking for some extra cash to cover the expensive holiday shopping season, Upper Darby’s Cash in My Bag might be exactly what’s needed, writes Alicia Vitarelli for 6ABC.

The family-owned business offers instant cash for designer items that people no longer need without having to wait for bids or other types of consignment trading.

“Everything is instant. You do not have to wait for the item to sell – everything you are paid up front,” said Michael Zakroff, Cash in My Bag owner.

The company estimates the resale potential of an item and then offers a percentage to the owner, usually 50 percent. The seller sends in a picture of the item online, and Cash in My Bag makes an offer and, if accepted, sends the seller a shipping label.

The company’s West Chester Pike location is also available for visits, but only by appointment, with many items often 70 to 90 percent off retail.

“You get some great names. We buy top designers from Louis Vuitton, to Chanel, to Hermes,” said Zakroff.
