Two Local Companies Among 50 Best Workplaces for Diversity Nationwide

Listed alongside some of the world’s most famous moms, SAP’s Jennifer Morgan has made her mark for transforming the cloud and gender equality.

Proving that diversity is not just a buzzword for them, both Conshohocken’s IKEA at 23rd and Newtown Square’s SAP at 41st are on the recently released Fortune magazine’s list of the 50 best workplaces for diversity, writes Michelle Caffrey for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

IKEA, with around 15,000 workers in the U.S., reported that 20 percent of its workforce is African-American/black, 22 percent Hispanic/Latino, seven percent Asian, and 46 percent Caucasian/white. The company also said that 41 percent of its executives are women.

SAP, which has a workforce of roughly 19,700 nationwide, is composed of three percent African-American/black, 23 percent Asian, four percent Hispanic/Latino, and 68 percent Caucasian/white. The company’s executive staff is 30 percent women.
