Region Flush with $6 Million for Digital Healthcare Startups

By

A big prize awaits the healthcare startups with the most promising cure to the industry’s future digital needs: a share of a new $6 million pie.

The fund is the collaborative result of Philadelphia area leaders Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Independence Health Group, and Safeguard Scientifics, according to a PhillyVoice report by Jerry Gaul.

The money is meant to be spread out over the coming four years to help promising tech-focused, early-stage healthcare startups.

The trio will select funding recipients based on their business model, the vision of their management team, and the viability of their technology, the article explained. Then Ben Franklin, Independence, and Safeguard will infuse each startup with a dose of “sourcing opportunities, guidance, and support.”
