Built in 1912, a beautiful historic Palladian home that has been cared for by a Titanic survivor’s family for more than a century, is up for sale in Radnor, writes Sandy Smith for Philadelphia magazine.

Named “Rock Rose,” the eight-bedroom and eight-bathroom home was designed by Zantziger, Borie & Medary. The structure was originally a summer home for Edward K. Rowland and his family, but four years later was leased to George and his wife Lucile Brooke, who was a survivor of the Titanic disaster.

The house has also managed to keep pace with the times while still preserving its historic elements. One of the best examples of this is the kitchen where the original, now decorative, wood-burning stove is surrounded by modern appliances.

The living and dining rooms, together with the wood-paneled library, also still dazzle to this day with the pavilion and pool outside offering additional stunning relaxation areas.

The beautiful house at 200 Pine Tree Road in Radnor is listed by Robin Gordon from BHHS Fox & Roach for $1,999,000.
