PECO Helps Generate More Trails, Parks in Delaware County
PECO is paving the way for more recreational trails and community parks in Delaware County with more than $20,000 in grants.
The good news came last week when PECO President and CEO Craig Adams and Natural Lands Trust President Molly Morrison presented a total of $60,000 to seven municipalities, mostly located in Delaware and Chester counties.
The three local beneficiaries were Morton Borough ($10,000), Norwood Borough ($10,000), and Media Borough ($715).
The money was received through the PECO Green Region program, which has invested in more than 150 projects focused on open space preservation, improvements to parks and recreation resources, and environmental conservation.
The grant program was hosted at People’s Light & Theatre Co. in Malvern on Oct. 19. Other recipients included Chester County’s East Bradford Township, North Coventry Township, and East Marlborough Township, which each received $10,000.
