The pulse of Crozer-Chester Medical Center’s clinical program is racing with the news that the Upland teaching hospital will now see more of medical students each year.

Crozer-Chester was officially upgraded to one of just six Drexel University College of Medicine regional medical campuses, effective in 2017, the Philadelphia Business Journal announced in a report by John George.

The Crozer-Keystone Health System facility, now owned by Prospect Medical Holdings, can be selected as first choice for the clinical rotations of up to 24 students per class, and CEO Patrick Gavin said Crozer-Chester is confident it will be a popular choice.

“Although we’ve had a long-standing academic relationship with the medical center, this new designation will allow our students to interact more extensively with Crozer’s experienced physician faculty in an outstanding clinical environment,” said Drexel Med’s Vice Dean for Educational Affairs Dr. Valerie Weber.
