Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, is partnering with Stroud Water Research Center to work on advancing sustainable initiatives for the environment, according to a staff report from Yahoo! Finance.

The partnership comes in the wake of the Glen Mills company’s recently released 2014-2015 Sustainability Report and the start of its Sustainable Star customer awards program. The partnership brings together two organizations that are alike in their philosophy and support of sustainable initiatives.

Axalta’s liquid and powder coatings are basically free of volatile organic compounds and have no targeted hazardous air pollutants, making them an environmentally-responsible option for customers.

“Sustainability is central to virtually everything we do as a coatings company,” said Mike Carr, Axalta President for North America. “We are excited about our partnership with Stroud Water Research Center. Responsible organizations strive to minimize their impact on the environment.”

Axalta and Stroud will present their collaborative education program, which consists of the Science Seminar Series: Delaware River Watershed Initiative, at the Union League in Philadelphia on Oct. 19.
