Neumann University Hosted Annual Catholic Classical Schools Conference

By

According to an article written by James Growdon of the Regina Academies, “educators, teachers and administrators gathered together on the campus of Neumann University in Aston last month to attend the Institute for Catholic Liberal Education’s (ICLE) annual Catholic Classical Schools Conference (CCSC).” The conference was hosted by Regina Academies.

Attendees traveled from over 30 states and Canada to take part in this four-day event to “gain insights and develop classical pedagogy skillsets.”

In its fourth year, this 2016 conference theme was “The Sacramental Imagination.”

Keynote speakers, seminar leaders, superintendents, executive directors, and religious leaders from around the country, including Springfield’s Father John Masson, chaplain of Cardinal O’Hara High School, participated in this year’s event. The theme focused on the “time-tested traditions of Catholic classical education.”

Attendees gave kudos to Neumann University employees and university president, Dr. Rosalie Mirenda for their kindness displayed and the joyful environment.

Although the ICLE will divide the event into two separate conferences next year, due to continued growth, the East Coast conference will return to Neumann University.
