St. Edmond’s offers a broad spectrum of medical/nursing and therapeutic services to assist each child in achieving their greatest intellectual, physical, and social potential.

Residential Director

This position manages the total operation of the residential programs, including supervising the Direct Support Professional Supervisors and Direct Support Staff. He/she interfaces with other departments as they pertain to the functions of St. Edmond’s Home for Children. The person is responsible for scheduling and the utilization of staff benefit time to minimize overtime. The individual trains, directs, and holds supervisors accountable for their assigned responsibilities and tasks pertaining to scheduling.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field – a Master’s Degree is preferred – and have five years of experience in the field, including progressive management experience. He/she will have the ability to solve problems and provide solutions when challenges arise unexpectedly.

Director of Social Services

This position will act as liaison between St. Edmond’s Home and various community agencies (Intermediate Unit, County Departments of Children and Youth, and offices of MH/MR, etc.). He/she participates as an active member of the IDT, including assessments and program meetings. The person also serves as St. Edmond’s representative for the pre-admission/admission and discharge processes.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work, must be a licensed Social Worker, and have five years of experience working with children with intellectual disabilities. He/she should have previous supervisory experience, and will be CPR-certified during the six-month orientation period.

Direct Care Professional

This position assists children with intellectual disabilities in their daily living skills, program needs, and emotional and behavior needs. He/she will focus on providing quality care to each individual, while assisting them to reach their greatest level of independence in conjunction with the entire Interdisciplinary Team. The person assists/coaches/monitors each individual with their daily living needs such as bathing, personal hygiene care, dressing, etc.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. He/she should have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
