Villanova has been in celebration mode ever since Kris Jenkins buried a 3-pointer as time expired to propel the Wildcats to the NCAA basketball championship almost two months ago.

The merriment continued Tuesday as the team visited President Obama at the White House.

“We have the best-dressed man in college basketball, the George Clooney of coaches, Jay Wright,” said Obama. “Today, we celebrate a remarkable team that worked tirelessly to make Coach look good. His tailor and stylist couldn’t make it, but we do have his basketball team.

“They treated us to a run as good as any I can remember.”

The trip to the White House, a ritual for the champions of each college basketball and football season, comes on the heels of Josh Hart’s announcement that he is returning to the team for his senior year. Hart and Jenkins were two of 65 players invited to the 2016 NBA draft combine, but withdrew their names before the May 25th deadline.

“I enjoyed the process and learned a lot,” said Hart. “It was definitely worthwhile. I look forward to graduating next year and coming back to play with my teammates.”

Villanova will have to overcome the departure of Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu to graduation.

However, the return of both Hart and Jenkins gives the Wildcats a good shot at defending their crown.
