Chester County’s United Sports and YSC Sports Sold to Out-of-State Youth Sports Operator

United Sports Training Center campus in Downingtown.

United Sports Training Center in Downingtown and YSC Sports in Wayne have a new owner in Indiana-based Capacity Sports Group, which operates youth sports programs and manages sports venues, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal

Both transactions while separate, were completed on April 13, and financial terms were not disclosed.

Opened in 1999 and expanded in 2008, United Sports has become one of the largest indoor and outdoor multi-sport complexes in the mid-Atlantic region, attracting about 1.4 million visitors each year.

The facility features 218,000 square feet of indoor space, eleven professional-grade outdoor fields, and a 91,000-square-foot Kinetic Dome. It hosts youth and adult leagues, tournaments, summer camps, and private clinics across many sports.

YSC Sports includes one outdoor field and three indoor turf fields. The 90,000-square-foot facility hosts youth and adult soccer leagues, along with training and development programs, clinics, and camps in sports such as soccer and flag football.

According to Ken Kocher, CEO of Capacity Sports, the acquisition will help the company accelerate its plan to become a “national youth sports platform” regardless of the sport.
