Sellersville Site Secures $125K for Cleanup, Paving Way for Housing

A brownfield site on the Sellersville Business Campus has secured funding for remediation work, clearing the way for residential development.

A brownfield site in Sellersville has secured funding for remediation work, which will clear the way for new residential development, writes Medianews Group for The Reporter.

The Department of Community and Economic Development has approved $125,625 in Industrial Sites Reuse Program funding for the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority so that it can carry out remediation of the site at 900 East Clymer Avenue.

The 4.9-acre parcel is part of the borough’s 45-acre Sellersville Business Campus, which includes the former Ametek/U.S. Gauge plant that closed in 2008. The property, previously owned by Ametek, was acquired by the Bucks County Industrial Development Authority in 2013 to start converting it into a business park.

Established in 2015, the Business Campus has undergone remediation under EPA oversight.

The new funding will be used for soil cleanup, removal of a 20,000-gallon underground storage tank, and handling of quarterly groundwater sampling as part of the Land Recycling Program. After completion, the site will meet standards for residential development.

“Transforming former industrial sites into new opportunities is how we build stronger, healthier communities across Pennsylvania,” said DCED Secretary Rick Siger.
