Immaculata University Music Major Emily Reid Named 2025-26 Presser Scholar

Immaculata University student Emily Reid ’26 earns the prestigious Presser Foundation Undergraduate Scholar Award for her outstanding achievements in music, academics, and leadership.

The Immaculata University Music Department shares that Emily Reid ’26 is the recipient of the Presser Foundation’s 2025-26 Undergraduate Scholar Award.

The award, in the amount of $3,000, encourages and supports the education of a music student who has achieved a high level of musical and academic excellence, demonstrated leadership and service, and contributed to an inclusive community.

Reid, a music therapy major at Immaculata, distinguishes herself with her musical talent. She serves as President of the Mighty Muse and member of Immacapella, as well as participating in several ensembles during her time at Immaculata, including guitar, percussion, chamber choir, and chorale.

Beyond her vocal and instrumental work, Reid previously served as the Vice President of the Cue & Curtain theater group and is a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society, which recognizes superior achievement in both music and academics.

“This award acknowledges the intersection of academic rigor and musical leadership that is exhibited among our music students at Immaculata, especially Emily Reid; it is an honor to recognize her for this award,” said Joseph Gehring, Ed.D., chair of Immaculata’s Music Department.

Originally from Toms River, N.J., Reid graduated as valedictorian from Ocean County Vocational Technical School Grunin Performing Arts Academy before studying music therapy at Immaculata University.

The Presser Foundation, formed by Music Educator and Publisher Theodore Presser, provides philanthropic support of music and serves a broad and diverse community of musicians, educators, and music lovers.
