A four-building, 1.3-million square-foot logistics center is being proposed on the edge of Delaware County in Darby Township, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.
Stream Realty Partners out of Dallas is proposing a warehouse development on 106 acres off Calcon Hook Road at the former Darby Creek Tank Farm oil storage site owned by Sunoco.
The property borders Philadelphia and is about 1.5 miles north of I-95 and the Philadelphia International Airport, and six miles west of the Bellwether District.
The development, known as Girard Point Logistics Center, was proposed last week to the Delaware County Planning Commission. It would need approval from Darby Township. That decision would likely come in late spring or early summer.
Stream Realty Partners acquires and builds industrial, office, health care, and retail projects.
The former tank farm site has been physically cleared for new development, with recommendations from the Delaware County Planning Commission for stormwater management and traffic calming measures.
It’s unknown if the proposed warehouse complex would be built for a specific tenant or whether Stream Realty Partners would seek approvals, then sell to another firm to develop the property.
