With Four Decades Under Her Belt, ‘Queen of TV Shopping’ Bids Farewell to HSN

HSN's Bobbi Ray Carter is leaving the live shopping network after 43 years, and QVC Group is honoring her career.

Host Bobbi Ray Carter has spent 43 years wearing the crown of “OG and Queen of TV Shopping” at HSN, becoming a monumental voice of live shopping in the homes of millions, reports HSN at PRNewswire.

With the network’s earliest days as Home Shopping Network, Carter started in 1983 when HSN was a small studio in Florida. Hosts showed off products and answered customer calls on-air, and Carter has spent almost 42,000 hours broadcasting and changing what modern shopping looks like.

On March 22, HSN will present “Bobbi’s Big Sendoff – LIVE!”, an in-studio showing that will bring in friends, family, hosts, brand partners, and beloved viewers to celebrate her career as the first female live shopping host. QVC+ and HSN+ will also feature program flashbacks and memorable moments, as well as an original documentary.

With over four decades of experience, Carter has seen the transition of home shopping from radio to television to social media. HSN itself made a huge shift last year moving to West Chester as QVC Group consolidated everything in one place.

“It feels a little full circle,” she said. “In the beginning it was just the host, the product and the audience, and that connection is still what makes it so special today. Whether on TikTok Shop, our linear channels or e-commerce, great products – and our connection with the customer – is what it’s all about.”
