Widener University Hosts AI Week of Events Through March 5

Amanda Bickerstaff, CEO of AI for Education, delivered her keynote address at Widener University’s AI Day last year.

Building on last year’s Artificial Intelligence Day event, Widener University will be hosting AI Week from March 2-5.

Programming will center on continuing to have meaningful and real-world conversations about AI and its applications.

The main event, Widener AI Sparks, takes place on Wednesday, March 4, from 12 to 1 PM, on the Widener University Chester campus in Harris Hall Commons.

Widener AI Sparks is a fast-paced showcase of lightning TEDx-style talks that are short, sharp, and grounded in real experience.

Six talks lasting eight to ten minutes will be presented by students, faculty, and staff from across Widener and will provide attendees with a mix of practical takeaways and thoughtful critiques of the technology.

The talks focus on real-world AI experiences and are designed to inspire dialogue and thinking. Presenters will speak to a crowd in front of a backdrop.

Other AI Week programming includes conversations about AI literacy, a student-led forum sharing what students wish their professors knew about AI, student research poster presentations about the ethics of AI, and more, all centered around collaborative conversation and peer learning.

Widener University is a private institution where students develop the leadership qualities sought by employers.
