Eddie Bauer Retail Operator Liquidating Stores in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

The operator of Eddie Bauer has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is currently liquidating stores.

The store operator of Eddie Bauer, an entity under Catalyst Brands Group, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is in the process of liquidating its stores, including one in Concordville, writes Ariana Perez-Castells for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The Delaware County store is in the Shoppes at Brinton Lake, 961 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills.

The store operator filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 9 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.

Before the bankruptcy filing, the operator opted not to renew leases that were ending Jan. 31 for 49 stores that have since closed.

Now the operator is liquidating its remaining 175 stores as it seeks a buyer.

The Chapter 11 filing does not impact Eddie Bauer’s manufacturing, wholesale or e-commerce operations, nor does it impact retail operations outside of the U.S. and Canada.

Other Eddie Bauer stores in the Philadelphia region include one at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets in Montgomery County and at the Glocester Premium Outlets in Camden County.

Catalyst Brands, formed in January 2025, has been operating the Eddie Bauer stores.

Catalyst Brands CEO Marc Rosen said in a news release that Eddie Bauer was dealing with declining sales and supply chain challenges amid other issues.

“Over the past year, these challenges have been exacerbated by various headwinds, including increased costs of doing business due to inflation, ongoing tariff uncertainty, and other factors,” Rosen said.
