Leen Sadder and Ryan Murphy, who live in Amsterdam, elevated their wedding at Doylestown’s Aldie Mansion into an intimate, sophisticated dinner-party experience, writes Emily Goulet for Philadelphia Magazine.
Having met in Istanbul, the couple organized the entire celebration from their Amsterdam home, drawing on their design expertise and a team of vendors to create a sophisticated dinner-party experience.
“Our wedding was all about celebrating in a way that felt completely us—two designers from different cultural backgrounds who love bringing people together in meaningful ways,” said Murphy.
Born and raised in Lebanon, Sadder and Murphy, a native of Malvern, selected the Tudor-style estate in Bucks County as the ideal setting.
Held in Aldie Mansion’s oak-paneled library, the nonreligious ceremony included a church-style processional, with Sadder escorted down the aisle by her father to a traditional Arabic song, paying tribute to both their cultural heritage.
In the ballroom, a serpentine table wound through the space, adorned with grapes and greenery. Guests from around the world enjoyed a six-course dinner, Arabic music infused with jazz, and vibrant conversation.
“We took a big leap by mixing up seating, pairing strangers together based on their interests—and it worked,” said Sadder.
