The Wall Street Journal Names Philadelphia the Top Place to Visit in 2026

The Wall Street Journal has compiled a list of the top 10 places to visit in 2026, and right at the very top is Philadelphia.

People all go on trips and vacations for different reasons, and Philadelphia has several reasons, which is why it’s not only one of the 10 best places to visit next year, but the top place, writes Wall Street Journal staff.

One of the many prevalent things Philadelphia is known for is its sports. For both locals and visitors, Philadelphia will be filled with sports spectacles to enjoy in 2026. Among them are the March Madness tournament, the FIFA World Cup, and the MLB All-Star Game.

Philadelphia will serve as the host city for all these sporting events next year. This includes six World Cup matches, including a knockout round game on July 4.

Speaking of July 4, Philadelphia will also be the epicenter of America’s 250th birthday.

In preparation of the semiquincentennial, the Museum of the American Revolution has undergone a million-dollar renovation and the National Constitution Center will be debuting several new galleries.

Philly is one of only two American cities to make this list, along with Tulsa, Oklahoma, at seventh.
