Delaware County’s Got Some Good Lottery Karma Right Now

There's good Delaware County lottery karma right now, with a winning $5 million and $1 million ticket sold in Radnor and Haverford.

It’s been a scratch-off lottery ticket bonanza lately in Delaware County.

A $5 million ticket was sold at the Giant supermarket at 550 E. Lancaster Ave. in Radnor Township, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery, writes Joe Holden for CBS News Philadelphia.

The winning ticket was part of the $50 Monopoly Own It All scratch-off game.

The Giant store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, reports the Daily Times.

Liza Santiago of Wayne, who was at the Giant store, said she does not play the lottery, but her husband does.

“I’ll advise him to come here and get his ticket,” Santiago said.

Jim Maule paused to remember his late mother, Jenny, who loved the lottery.

“She would insist you got to play all the birthday numbers, that sort of thing,” Maule said. “And she would win occasionally, $5, $10.”

Delaware County was blessed with a second lottery winner who bought a $20 New Year’s Millionaire Raffle drawing ticket recently at Manoa Beverage at 1111 West Chester Pike in Havertown. He or she hit for $1 million.

Manoa Beverage will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
