Garnet Valley’s Georgia Chambers, 7, Finds Fame with a Book About Money

Georgia Chambers, 7, with her parents Michael and Taylor, were recently interviewed about her book on Fox 29.

Georgia Chambers, 7, of Garnet Valley, learned a valuable lesson about money from her parents and decided she wanted to share her experience  in a book she wrote with her father called “The Scoop.”

The children’s book, illustrated by Martynas Marchiusm, was recently released and published through Bear With Us Productions, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

It teaches children to work hard for what they want, save money, and share it.

The story comes from Georgia’s real-life experience with her parents when she asked for a basketball, and her father built her a lemonade stand so she could earn it.

“Georgia wanted a new ball and we, her parents, told her she needs to work for it,” said her father, Michael Chambers.

In the story, it’s an ice cream stand, with enough ice cream sold to buy the ball, save a third of the earnings, and share a third of it in the community.

Georgia, a first-grader at Concord Elementary School, recently read her book to her classmates, and copies of the book have been donated to the school library.

Now a second book is in the works about trying out for the basketball team.
