Tinicum Cruise Ship Terminal Offers Fly and Cruise Options for World Travelers

The first cruise out of Tinicum's new Norwegian Cruise Line home port is scheduled for April.

The PhilaPort Cruise Terminal, being built in Tinicum near the Philadelphia International Airport, offers travelers the convenience of seamlessly transitioning from airport to ocean, writes Sarannya Acharya for Travel and Tour World.

“The terminal’s strategic location next to a major international airport is a game-changer for travelers looking to combine air travel with cruise vacations,” the magazine notes.

With 41 sailings per year from the new port to Bermuda and other East Coast destinations, the Tinicum site is a convenient alternative to cruise ports in Florida and New York.

The magazine highlights several benefits of the new port.

  • Minutes from the international airport.
  • A chance to explore a historic city before or after a cruise.
  • Diverse cruise itineraries for travelers who want to explore multiple destinations without large port congestion.
  • Creation of thousands of jobs and a significant boost to the regional economy.
  • Spacious check-in areas, easy parking, and streamlined boarding.

Tinicum Township and the nearby Delaware River region offer scenic views, waterfront dining, and easy access to Philadelphia’s cultural sites.

PhilaPort is diversifying its waterfront activities from cargo to leisure and tourism with the opening of the new port hub in 2026. Read more about what the Tinicum port hopes to offer travelers in Travel and Tour World.
