Tinder Bots Are Taking Over the Dating App, and One Philly User Had This Interesting Encounter

A Philadelphia Tinder user recently noticed a bot using references mostly privy to Philadelphians, and it's raising some eyebrows.

Tinder bots are becoming more prevalent within the popular dating app and as a result, one Philadelphia user found it’s doing something she never previously witnessed, writes Patrick Rapa for Philadelphia Magazine.

The user was on the app and noticed that a bot started using Philadelphia landmarks as a way to seduce Philadelphians. Specifically, the references were Green Eggs Cafe, the Philadelphia Eagles game, and the Schuylkill River.

“It was honestly very funny. And I did end up going on a Tinder date last night with an actual human and we had an amazing time. My opening line was, ‘Please don’t be a bot,’ lol.”

While this user may have found the situation to be funny, not every user may it.

It brings to the forefront the question of what might be next for other Philadelphians in the dating scene?

There is no telling, so the best piece of advice would be to just be careful out there.
