Amy Trojecki and her husband Joe Dominguez had come back to the Philadelphia region after three years in Chicago and were searching for a special property, writes Laurel Anderson for County Lines Magazine.
“I had a vision for this property when I first saw it,” Trojecki said.
The secluded waterfront home at 80 Heyburn Road in Chadds Ford on Karver Lake is now for sale as the family moves on.
The property was originally granted to William Penn. It has been owned by local notables Karl Kuerner, A. Atwater Kent, and George Heyburn.
The 12,000 square-foot home sits on seven acres with seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

The Georgian mansion was originally built as a Friends meeting house. It was converted to a farmhouse using stone from a nearby quarry and added on to over the years.
Amy and Joe brought in Cutis Cruise Construction to create a chef-centered, eat-in kitchen and updated bathrooms. They repainted inside and out, removed walls, exposed stone walls, and opened up space.
The home was also modernized and made energy efficient.
The result blends period-appropriate details with modern living.
