Reworld is hosting a free electronics recycling event on Nov. 12 at Upland County Park from 9 AM to 1 PM, which will also support the Chester Panthers Youth Football and Cheerleading Program.
The event does require advance registration, and only 550 registrants will be accepted.
The event is being held in partnership with the Pennsylvania Resources Council.
Residents of Delaware County can safely and sustainably dispose of old or unused electronics while making a positive impact on the local sports program.
Event sponsor Reworld is pledging a $15,000 donation to the Chester Panthers Youth Football and Cheerleading Program. If the amount of e-waste collected surpasses 15,000 pounds, Reworld will add a donation of $5,000.
Upland County Park is located at 280 6th Street in Upland.
Reworld owns and operates a sustainable waste facility in Chester and an electronics waste processing facility in Philadelphia.
The Chester Panthers are a youth football and cheerleading organization founded in 1996. It serves about 160 kids ages 5 to 15. The program values mentorship, teamwork, and community pride both on and off the field.
Items accepted at the collection include: Televisions, computer monitors, printers, CPU towers, laptops, mice, and keyboards, desktop copiers and scanners, tablets, routers and modems, home and cell phones, cable boxes and electronic cables, DVD players, VCRs, stereos and video game consoles, and vacuum cleaners.
Items for recycling should be placed in your car trunk or truck bed.
