Martinique Deux is opening soon in Media, promising live music and comedy shows, writes Lisa Dukart for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The bar and entertainment venue debuted with a soft opening yesterday and today and will have a grand opening on Oct. 23 in Media’s office-dominant Phoenix building at 115 W. State Street.
Business partners James Matika, Jason Fogg, and Pat Collins envision a lively place where people enjoy a drink before or after dinner, watch a game, play darts, and enjoy music or a comedy show.
“I think it’s going to be one of Media’s staples,” Collins said.
There will be live entertainment at least three days a week at the 21-and-over venue.
Some events will be ticketed. Others will charge a cover.
There will be soft pretzels, popcorn, and chips at the bar, with local pizza and a rotating food truck planned.
The cocktail list will likely feature Pops McCann liquors, Fogg’s Pottstown distillery for bourbons, whiskeys, and rum, with plans to expand into vodka and tequilas.
Matika previously worked at Tap 24 and La Belle Epoque in Media.
Collins’ father formerly owned the Clam Tavern in Clifton Heights, and Collins owned a dive bar in South Philly previously.
