West Philadelphia rapper and entrepreneur Chill Moody has found a Montco partner for his latest project that blends golf, cocktails, and community, writes Michael Klein for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Working with Lansdale’s Boardroom Spirits, Moody launched the Tequila Transfusion — a canned cocktail that reimagines the classic country club drink.
The traditional transfusion is made with vodka, grape juice, ginger ale, and lime. Moody swaps in tequila while adding bergamot and black currant.
The drink was crafted and canned by Boardroom Spirits, known for its innovation in the ready-to-drink market. At 5.6% ABV, it’s light enough to enjoy on the golf course without slowing down play — a design Moody says reflects his own love for the game.
For Moody, the cocktail is about more than flavor. He founded the nonprofit We Golf Now to introduce Black and brown youth to golf. Proceeds from the beverage help fund the program, which has already reached dozens of kids through driving range sessions and indoor training.
The partnership puts Lansdale on the map in a unique way. It showcases how a local distillery can power a creative collaboration that links sports, music, and culture. Four-packs of Tequila Transfusion are available online for $14.99, and Moody has been hosting pop-up tastings across the region.
