Radnor residents are being invited to give their input on “A Vision for Wayne,” an initiative to create a master plan for downtown Wayne’s neighborhood, writes Max Bennett for Patch.
“A Vision for Wayne” will provide a roadmap that will help guide decisions on housing, historic preservation, open space, mobility, design, and land use.
MJB Consulting is hosting a presentation on Thursday, Oct. 30, from 6:30 to 8 PM in the Radnor Township Municipal Building, 301 Aven Ave. in Wayne.
The presentation will help explain why retailers choose the locations they do and what makes downtowns compelling.
On Saturday, Nov. 1, the township invites community members to an open house on the plan.
“A Vision for Wayne, Kick Off Open House,” will take place 10 AM to 3 PM in the North Wayne Parking Lot, next to Gingy’s.
Residents will have an opportunity to review the initial master plan findings, share downtown Wayne experiences, and talk with township officials about what they would like the future of Wayne’s downtown to be.
“A Vision for Wayne” builds on Radnor Township’s Comprehensive Plan, highlighting Wayne’s strengths and identifying new opportunities to support local businesses, mobility housing, public spaces, and more, according to the “A Vision for Wayne” website.
Areas of focus include land use, business attraction and retention, parking, and housing diversity and affordability.
The goal is to strengthen Wayne’s unique character, making sure it remains vibrant, welcoming, and resilient.
“The result of this effort will be a Master Plan document that presents a clear vision, strategies, and an action plan with short-, medium-, and long-term actions to guide investment and decision-making,” according to the “A Vision for Wayne” website.
