Three Charming Chester County Restaurants You Need to Try

Chester County has three charming restaurants from a gourmet farm-to-table gem in Kennett Square to a British tavern and a historic café.

Three Chester County restaurants are known to be especially charming eateries, complimented by a cozy atmosphere and unforgettable flavors, writes Dorian Briggs for Ever After in the Woods

Talula’s Table is a true gem in Kennett Square, where securing a reservation can take months of planning. During the day, the space acts as a gourmet market for those strolling through the streets of the quaint town.

At night, it becomes a farm-to-table eatery, with space for just 12 people. Aimee Olexy is the chef and owner of Talula’s Table, who takes her guests on a journey through eight seasonal courses.

The Whip Tavern, located in the hills of Coatesville, is reminiscent of British culture and cuisine. The decor leans into the British aesthetic with classic red phone booths and equestrian knick-knacks. The restaurant gives a small, hole-in-the-wall feel where regulars can enjoy their shepherd’s pie paired with a pint of ale.

Birchrunville Store Café has a rich history, originally opening its doors in 1898, and later operating as a post office and general store until it was transformed into a café. Guests can feel the original character of the historic building, with photographs and memorabilia covering the walls.

The café’s menu changes weekly, with each evening highlighting its own special dish. Menu items could include high-quality meals such as Chilean sea bass, rabbit confit spring roll, and prime strip steak.
